- A sales rule is a set of parameters for how potential customers are assigned to sales reps. In NetSuite, sales rules can be based on standard and custom fields found on lead, prospect and customer records, such as name, address and phone number. Examples of additional statements that can be used for this section: Account Management will be responsible for the relationship once the initial sale to a customer is made and assigned by sales management manually upon the close of a new customer. Sales Engineers are engaged based on a "first come, first served" basis with the sales team.
