- Work Order Completion is the NetSuite transaction which is responsible for driving inventory and accounting changes related to manufacturing activities. Specifically, it will: ¥ Record completed units into inventory. ¥ Assemble manufacturing costs against the Work Order based upon Cost Templates and operational data (by default taken from the Manufacturing Routing). Advanced Manufacturing offers automation of the Work Order Completion. This can be initiated either through Suitelet forms for capture of manufacturing data or via direct mobile transactions on the shop floor. Automated completions can be configured for each location independently and has the following options available: ¥ Trigger automated Material Issuance (see Work Order Material Issuance) either before or after the completion. o Can be overridden by individual Assembly Items ¥ Record scrap during the completion IF associated data collection is utilized. o Includes the ability to build scrap as a finished item and move it to a special bin for disposition. ¥ Record actual labor during the completion IF associated data collection is utilized. o Final costing still driven by Cost Templates for determining rates but replaces standard hours with actuals. ¥ Record setup time during the completion IF associated data collection is utilized. o Setup time is also decremented from the run time for the purposes of costing. ¥ Automated inventory bin assignment for assembly items being created leveraging either: o A single bin per location that receives all completed assembly items, or o Individual work center bins that facilitate immediate availability of sub-assemblies for consumption in the parent Work Order. Real-time data collection via mobile applications supports all of the data requirements for automated completions and is covered more thoroughly under Shop Floor Data Collection. In general, this capability allows shop floor personnel to record incremental progress against the Work Order at an operation level. NetSuite encourages the automation of NetSuite Work Order Completions via one of its mobile applications (i.e. scanner or tablet). This scanner functionality is designed to work in conjunction with Work Order Traveler while the tablet functionality is intended to support a paperless manufacturing operation.
