Material Issuance establishes the consumption (and associated cost impact) of raw materials to the Work Order. The transaction requires the following information in general: ¥ Item identification & quantity ¥ Control Number (i.e. lot or serial number) for controlled items ¥ Bin location from which to decrement inventory levels Advanced Manufacturing supports material issuance both through automation of the Work Order Completion transaction as well as through real-time transactions on the shop floor via mobile applications. Automated issuance is limited to non-controlled BOM items and can be configured for each location independently and has the following options available: ¥ Issue material based upon the operation where they are consumed ¥ Identify materials that should not be automatically issued ¥ Automatically calculate the quantity to be issued based upon the number of assembly items being produced (i.e. ratio to the BOM quantities). ¥ Either ignore or incorporate "Component Yield" when this feature is enabled. ¥ Automatically identify the bin location from which to deplete inventory based upon either: o A bin assigned to the entire location o Individual bins assigned to each Work Center and associated assignments of the BOM components to manufacturing operations (i.e. kanban styleconsumption). Real-time issuance can accommodate all item types and is covered more thoroughly under Inventory Management for Manufacturing. In general, this capability allows shop floor personnel to issue material at any time directly to the Work Order. Barcodes required for this type of issuance are generated as part of the Traveler (see Advanced Manufacturing Reporting).
