- Once the Planner is satisfied with the sequence of the Production Schedule and utilization of available capacity, Work Orders are selected to be 'released' to the shop floor for execution. Release of a Work Order enables manufacturing related activities to take place including: finite scheduling, shop floor document creation and data collection. Advanced Manufacturing provides a means to invoke automated Schedule Checks in order to preclude Work Orders from being released that do not satisfy various criteria. Checks can be set to run at a predetermined time each day or can be initiated manually. By default, the following Schedule Checks can be enabled, any of which will result in a Work Order being unavailable for release: ¥ Sales Order on hold ¥ Customer on hold ¥ Assembly on hold Releasing a Work Order is ultimately accomplished by changing the status of the Work Order. While this can be accomplished on a Work Order-by-Work Order basis, Advanced Manufacturing provides a mechanism to assemble, review and release Work Orders "en masse". The opportunity for filtering and sorting Work Orders for update includes the following: Filter by: ¥ Work Order Status ¥ Production Class - an Advanced Manufacturing identifier applied to assembly items Sort by (2-level sort supported): ¥ Age ¥ Planned Date ¥ Schedule Code - a code that can be used to set scheduling priority to an assembly item ¥ Production Calls - see above ¥ Planning Code - a code available to planners for ad-hoc grouping (e.g. Build-to-Stock, Rush Order, etc.) ¥ Quantity Once a Work Orders is moved to a "Released" status it will be included in a number of Saved Searches to aid in the Planning and Execution process. Work Order Management (WOM) provides one consolidated view for all critical information required to effectively monitor production activities at the work center and operations routing level. The WOM also provides a consolidated view for actual production results and related information as long as these features are enabled and shop floor data is being captured. The application will allow users to manage and monitor shop floor activity including: ¥ List work orders by Work Order status code for any work center ¥ Edit work order and or operations routing step details to the extent permitted by NetSuite. ¥ Verify material availability for any selected work order prior to work order release ¥ Review parent-child work order relationships for sub-assembly items ¥ Daily Calendar View to identify run sequence and daily capacity utilization ¥ Gantt chart graph work center activity ¥ Gantt chart graph plant activity
