- By default, all NetSuite hosted content will be under the shopping.netsuite.com domain name. When hosting a Web site or Web pages in NetSuite, you can use your own existing domain names to mask the shopping.netsuite.com domain name and provide a better experience to your customers and for search engine optimization. [ONLY Site Builder] Secured pages such as the checkout and My Account pages will be under https://checkout.netsuite.com. These pages are protected by a NetSuite-owned SSL certificate. NetSuite also provides additional checkout domains for use on secured pages. These are securedcheckout.com, onlinecheckout.com, webstorecheckout.com, and suitecheckout.com. You can then choose an alias or subdomain name to use as the final checkout URL. For example, company.securedcheckout.com. By default, you will need to use one of these checkout domains for all secured pages and not the custom domain name you set up for the non-secured pages. You have the option to create your own custom secure domain to use for Web store checkout and other secured pages. A custom secure domain allows you to maintain your company branding throughout a shopper's Web store experience. With this option, you must purchase and maintain your own SSL certificate through GoDaddy.com or VeriSign. You can create 301 redirects in NetSuite to direct visitors from deprecated Web pages to the correct pages on your Web site. This is especially useful if you previously hosted your Web site at another location, but you still use the same domain name for your NetSuite Web site. Using 301 redirects helps search engines that ranked pages on your previous Web site find your new site and update links. Search engines interpret a 301 redirect as having moved permanently.
