- The Checkout Flow is by default broken down into three major step groupings: <BR><ul><li>Shipping </li><li>Payment </li><li>Review & Place Order </li></ul> Each step grouping may consist of multiple steps within the grouping. The step groupings and steps are customizable. In addition to the default three-step checkout flow, Reference Checkout includes a pre-configured one-page checkout flow. The one page checkout flow consists of two pages for the end customer, the checkout page complete with Shipping, Addressing, Payment processing, Gift Certificate and Promotions processing, followed by an Order Review page. There are a number of settings within your NetSuite account that can affect the flow and availability of certain components by default within the Reference Checkout pages. Customer Registration: The checkout flow includes the ability for a Guest Customer to shop and checkout items only when the Customer Registration site setting is set to optional. This setting can be defined on the Web Site Set Up page on the Shopping tab. When Customer Registration is optional a Checkout as Guest button is available. With this option, a guest shopper enters all required information in a series of steps (shipping information, payment methods etc), and at the end of the checkout process is given the option to save their profile and become a registered shopper. When Customer Registration is required, the shoppers information is collected and stored first before finalizing the transaction. Payment Options: By default there are up to three payment option Tabs displayed including Credit/Debit, PayPal, and Invoice. A tabbed appearance of the Payment Methods page is used if at least two of the payment options are enabled in your site. Otherwise, a non-tabbed appearance is used. PayPal is displayed when the Allow non-credit card payment methods during Checkout option is enabled on the Shopping tab of the Web Site Setup page and a PayPal account for the site has been set on the Setup tab of the Web Site Setup page. Customers must have terms set on the customer record and register in your site to be able to pay by invoice. Security Code: The security code box is only displayed when the Use Card Security Code for Credit Card Transactions option is enabled at Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > Items/Transactions > Payment Processing. Terms and Conditions: The Terms and Conditions link on the Review page only displays when this is required by the site configuration and code. Gift Certificates: The Gift Certificates module only displays when the Gift Certificates feature is enabled and set up in your account. Promotions: The Promotions module only displays when the Promotions feature is enabled in your account.
